Most scrutiny work is carried out by the scrutiny committees. In Telford and Wrekin there are five committees which cover the range of services that the Council delivers. Scrutiny Management Board will reommend to Council in January 2020 that these are:
- Business and Finance Scrutiny Committee
- Children and Young People Scrutiny Committee
- Communities Scrutiny Committee
- Environment Scrutiny Committee
- Health and Adult Care Scrutiny Committee.
Each scrutiny committee is made up of elected members and members of the public who have been co-opted for their specific skills and experience.
A sub-group of the Health and Adult Care Scrutiny Committee also sit on the Shropshire and Telford and Wrekin Joint Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee which scrutinises substantial changes to NHS services affecting both areas.
