Certificates

Get a copy certificate for a birth, marriage, civil partnership or death that was registered in the borough of Telford and Wrekin. For births, marriages, civil partnerships and deaths outside of the borough, you will need to contact the relevant register office.

For birth certificate applications, there is a section in the application form where you can tell us whether you want a standard or a short certificate (an abbreviated version showing the name, date and district of birth only). Please note a standard birth certificate is required for passport applications.

What will it cost?

Please note: the Registration Service can only take card payments: we are unable to take cash payments.

Please note: from 16 February 2019, all certificates at the time of registration and thereafter will cost £11 each. Should a customer require a certificate within 24 hours from an historical record held by the Superintendent Registrar, the statutory fee will be £35. Postage costs for signed-for post is an additional £3.50, or an additional £7.50 for Special Delivery. The international signed postage fee is £11.50.
