Shared Reading Volunteer

Shared Reading volunteers facilitate Shared Reading Groups for people who are living with dementia, to engage them in reading to improve their wellbeing. The volunteers read aloud poetry and book extracts and then lead a group conversation inspired by what has just been read. It is not a poetry study session. Groups are held at day centres, residential homes and nursing homes all over the borough.

Due to the nature of the role, volunteers must be over 18 years of age.
