Telford Bike Hub is now open and offering affordable bike hire in the heart of Telford Town Park.

Open Friday to Sunday during term time and 7 days a week during school holidays, 10am - 4pm. Hire includes helmet, bike lock and a multi tool to use during hire duration.

Kids4£1 October half term special!

We're offering 1hr childrens bike hire for just £1 during October half term - just quote 'Kids for £1' when you arrive and show your Telford Loyalty Card.

Learn to Ride Bikeability group sessions

Description:
It's time to say goodbye to stabilisers. The Learn to Ride group sessions are here to help! During the session children will learn skills and techniques to help them improve balance and co-ordination. Parents must stay for the session and it's a great opportunity to get some extra tips and guidance to support your child in learning to ride. 

Price includes bike hire.

Pre-booking is essential.

Children can be booked onto more than one group session per day. On average children can require three group sessions to master the art of riding.

Age: Recommended for children aged 4 - 12.
Price: £7.

  • Monday 24 October 2022 9.30am - 10.30am, 11am - 12noon and 12.30pm - 1.30pm.
  • Tuesday 25 October 2022 9.30am - 10.30am, 11am - 12noon and 12.30pm - 1.30pm.
  • Wednesday 26 October 2022 9.30am - 10.30am, 11am - 12noon and 12.30pm - 1.30pm.

Spooktacular Park Ride

Age: 7+ Must be a confident bike rider.
Price: £7.

  • Friday 28 October 2022 11am - 1.30pm.

The ride will take place around the trails of the Town Park and will include an activity sheet and a picnic stop. The ride is not partially long (around 4 - 5 miles) and will include several stops. Participants must be able to confidently ride a bike.

Children can bring their own bike or use one of ours. If children are bringing their own bike please ensure they are in good working order. Children are required to bring their own packed lunch and drink/s. We recommend children bring their lunch and drinks in a rucksack, drawstring bags are not ideal. Please check the weather forecast and bring weather appropriate clothing such as a rain coat or sunscreen if required.

We encourage children to spook up their bikes and come in fancy dress. Each child will receive a goodie bag at the end of the ride.

Bikeability Family

Venue: Telford Bike Hub, Telford Town Park, next to the Visitor Centre.
Dates and times: arranged between family and instructor. This training is formed of two sessions usually 1 hour each.
Age: session one is off road and children must be aged 7 and over. Session two consists of on road training and children must be aged 9 or over for taking part in this session. 
Price: £10 per family - payable once dates arranged.

Description:
These sessions are to ensure children and their family are confident and competent at Bikeability Level 2. Many children complete Bikeability Level 2 in year 6 but if they have missed out at school this could be the perfect opportunity for the child and an adult to get up to speed with the nationally recognised Bikeability which covers how to cycle safely on our roads. A minimum of 1 adult and 1 child per family.

Due to our busy 'Summer of Cycling' we cannot guarantee that we can accommodate all bookings this summer however we will do our very best to arrange sessions at the earliest convenience.


1 to 1 Cycle Training / Learn to Ride

Venue: to be determined by the rider.
Dates and times: arranged between rider and instructor. Sessions are 1 hour.
Age: 12+.
Price: £20 per session.

Description:
Suitable for children and adults. The instructor will discuss your aims and ambitions and develop a training programme specific to you. Whether you are new to riding and wishing to learn or you can already ride and want to brush up on your skills, confidence and road knowledge these sessions will accommodate your individual needs.

Our instructors are nationally qualified, DBS checked and first aid trained. We only use instructors who understand the various needs of individuals.


Bikeability Level 1

Venue: Telford Bike Hub, Telford Town Park, next to the Visitor Centre.
Age: 7+.
Price: £7 per child.

We can also run bespoke courses for organised groups, please contact us to discuss.

Description:
Bikeability is today's cycle training programme. It's like cycling proficiency, but better! Through a series of fun games and challenges riders learn to control and master their bikes. Bikeability Level 1 is a highly practical session and open to children over 7 years old who can ride without stabilisers.

Parents/Guardians are not required to stay for this session.
