Could you provide enriching activities for school aged children during the holiday period?
Applications are now open to apply for a grant to become a Happy Healthy and Active Holiday Club Provider.
We are also seeking registration from organisations who are interested in providing an element of this service only and may be able to assist our successful Club Providers in delivering their activity.
Telford & Wrekin Council's Happy Healthy & Active Holiday programme is all about creating positive, enriching and engaging activities that are inclusive for local children and young people aged 5-16 years.
The programme consists of a range of different activities and suggestions for the holidays for you and your family to try out. We have promoted a range of ideas to help your family get active, eat well, learn new things, help feel connected, stay healthy and most of all have some fun.
This new programme has been made available using a £842,000 Holiday Activity Fund (HAF) grant from the Department for Education (DfE) and will help extend the offer of holiday activities across the borough. Particularly to those children, young people and families who sometimes are less likely to access organised out-of-school activities; who do receive support around healthy meals but not during the holidays; and more likely to experience additional pressures during this time.
Working together, we know we can help children to:
be more active
take part in engaging and enriching activities
eat more healthily and understand more about this
be safe and not to be socially isolated.
There are so many ways to get involved.
Please share the Happy Healthy & Active Holiday programme with others whether it's another parent, community provider, volunteer, activity provider.
