The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee - events

A Spectacular Weekend of Jubilee Celebrations at Telford Town Park.

Outdoor film screenings, picnics and children’s activities, proms style music concert are all on the menu for a right royal jubilee weekend at Telford Town Park on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 June. There will be food and drink vendors in the park so people can top up their picnics or just bring their chairs and picnic rugs and choose from the variety of food on offer.

A free weekend of top entertainment is planned to ensure local residents and visitors alike can soak up the party atmosphere in the family-friendly events.

Saturday 4 June 1.30pm to 10.30pm Community Picnic and Big Screen Afternoon.

Films will be screened on the Big Screen:

  • 2pm The Queen’s Corgi
  • 4pm BFG
  • 8pm live streaming of the Platinum Party At The Palace.

Sunday 5 June from 12noon to 6.30pm Concert In the Park. A fantastic line up of live Proms style music throughout the afternoon. The music stage will feature:

  • Royal Birmingham Conservatoire LEAP Ensemble
  • Haberdashers’ Abraham Darby Show Band
  • In Harmony Youth Ensemble.

In addition children’s workshops will include Chinese Dance, Junk Drums, Dance, Art Wheel, Hand Held Flag Have-A-Go Activity. These will be taking place 12noon to 4pm.

The events below will be taking place between May and July with the majority running over the Platinum Jubilee Weekend and have all received a grant allocation from Telford & Wrekin Council's The Queen's Platinum Jubilee Celebration Fund.
