Simon Froud, Director of Adult Social Care

We believe Telford Adult Social Care is a modern, aspirational and innovative place to have a career which put the people we support at the heart of everything we do. We are passionate about excellent front line practice for all disciplines that support the delivery of Adult Social Care statutory duties. We believe in supporting our staff to be the best they can be through continual professional development that is tailored to individuals.

We have great opportunities available in Telford for people who are forward thinking, aspirational and committed to being a part of an organisation that is responsive to front line practice needs while creating individual opportunities for professional development. We encourage new, creative and innovative ways of working to enable social workers, occupational therapists and all front-line practitioners to identify unique and person-centred solutions.

We want people to be aspirational and motivated to achieve amazing in Telford! Why you should choose Telford and Wrekin as a place to develop and further your social care career.

Catherine Holden, Principle Social Worker (PSW)

The role of Principal Social Worker ensures a focus on excellent practice across Adult Social Care, influencing and driving policy, procedure and business processes that work for frontline staff to deliver quality support to individuals, families, and carers. Leading on quality and co-production across the service.

As a smaller authority our work is more personal, with a real sense of being a part of a team working together to affect real change at all levels within our organisation.

What sets us apart is our positive strategy, can-do attitude, and strong vision of what we can be and what we can achieve. Our front-line practice supports a strength and asset-based approach, using a community led support ethos which strengthens individuals and communities alike.

We value the experiences and skills of individuals, their carers and the people important to them who access adult social care services. We work with experts by their experience to shape, develop and influence services from our front door to policy and processes. We have developed a co-production framework highlighting our commitment to co-production and supporting our Making It Real Board (MIRB).

Our innovative early prevention offer with our established Independent Living Centre (ILC) and Virtual House allows our residents to maximise their own independence. Our strength-based practice ensures we promote assistive technology and digital solutions throughout every conversation.

We support a range of partnership boards which are co-chaired by experts by their experience at a strategic and operational level. We have excellent partnerships both internally and externally including health, community, voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) and local providers of care and support. This is supported strategically through the Telford & Wrekin Integrated Place Partnership.

Our Service Delivery Managers work closely with operational teams in the service and take pride in being a visible and accessible leadership team.
