Bins and recycling - Helium Gas Bottles

Item Helium Gas Bottles
Image Warning Sign
Which bin/container should I use? Helium gas bottles can be taken to either Household Recycling Centre (HRC).
What can you do with it?

As these bottles contain highly pressurised gas or fuel, they present a significant safety risk if placed in either the red top or purple top wheelie bin.

If crushed, punctured, or damaged during the waste collection process, they could cause a fire or explosion.

For this reason, helium gas bottles must not be disposed of in a wheelie bin and should instead be taken to an HRC for safe disposal.
