As part of the budget consultation in January 2016, a proposal was put forward to review the distribution of the Council’s resident publication Your Voice and to save money by ceasing distribution to all households in the Borough. This would be replaced by a local pick up edition and promoting an online edition. Comments received during the budget consultation were mixed both for maintaining and reducing the distribution of the publication. Before any final decisions are taken a specific Your Voice consultation has been requested.

A consultation survey will be designed and delivered with local people to coincide with the distribution of the Spring 2016 edition of Your Voice. Survey questions will focus on the ‘reach’ of the publication rather than the content.

Online survey will be hosted on the Council website. Email requests to encourage survey submissions sent to Community Panel members and residents signed up to News For You. Face to face visits by officers to key geographical locations to gather 400 survey responses.

Survey results will be shared with Cabinet who will make decisions about the future distribution of Your Voice.
