Telford On-Demand - buses when you need them
We have launched a new on demand bus service ‘Telford On-Demand’ to improve transport around Ironbridge, to Madeley and the town centre.
Unlike traditional bus services, Telford On-Demand doesn’t follow a timetable or have any set routes.
Instead, a new app helps you travel when you like and even choose the closest pick up and drop off points, often within a minute’s walk.
It’s as simple as booking a taxi, but for buses instead and of course you’ll still travel with other people.
Buses are available Monday to Friday between 8am to 5.30pm
The service is a pilot at the moment and if successful, will be expanded to other areas.

All journeys are booked at least 30 minutes in advance
If you are a wheelchair user or bringing a buggy or bike on board, please let us know at the time of booking - just tick the appropriate box in the app.
Where are the bus stops?
The app will show you where the nearest pick-up point is to you – this could be virtual or an existing stop.
How much does the on demand service cost?
- Adult single - £2.
- Adult day ticket - £4.
- Child single - £1.
- Child day ticket - £2.
- Concessionary bus pass - free (contact the Telford On-Demand team to unlock the app for free booking).
