Landlord Housing Benefit information pack
We have produced an information pack to provide information to new and existing landlords who have tenants claiming assistance in paying their rent.
The pack contains the information landlords need to know about Housing Benefit (HB) and Local Housing Allowance (LHA) including how they can be claimed, who is paid, overpayments, disputes and useful contacts. Download the information pack.
Landlord Accreditation Scheme
The Council now operates a landlord accreditation scheme, where accredited landlords will be able to access on-line Housing Benefit information regarding the claims paid direct to them; for example the amounts and claim numbers that make up the latest payment. Please note that unless your tenant has given us permission to discuss their personal information with you the information we will be able to give you regarding a claim is limited to the details of any payments made direct to the landlord.
The Landlord Portal enables you to securely access our website and view real-time information regarding the benefit payments you are receiving on behalf of your tenants.
The Landlord Portal is simple to use and should also reduce the need for you to have to call us to enquire about housing benefit payments.
Once returned, we will then register your details and within 10 working days we will email your personal user ID, temporary password and link to the Landlord Portal together with a user guide.
