Telford Theatre (formerly The Place) is Telford's hub of entertainment based in Oakengates. Telford Theatre is currently closed for refurbishment, so the team has taken the cultural service on tour, placing shows in other local venues throughout the year.

By train:

Trains run regularly to Oakengates station provided by West Midlands Railway. The theatre is a 5 minute walk from the station; please see the below map for directions. To find train times, visit the National Rail website.

By bus:

Buses run regularly to and from Oakengates - the main bus station is a 1 minute walk from the theatre. Please see the map below for walking directions. To find the best bus route for you, visit the Arriva Bus website.

By car:

Take Junction 5 off the M54 and left onto Rampart Way, then left at the next roundabout onto the A442. Take the first exit off the A442 (signposted Oakengates) and then the third exit at the roundabout.
Go straight over the first small roundabout and then turn right at the second one. Immediately turn right into the theatre.

The Box Office counter is closed while the Theatre is being refurbished. On performance days at other venues, the Box Office counter will be available from 30 minutes before until 15 minutes after the start of the performance.
Online bookings are available until one hour before the start of a performance.

Telford Theatre project 

Telford Theatre is being fully demolished and replaced on its current site in a multi-million pound project.

The theatre, which was originally built in the 1960s, was suffering from significant structural defects as well as reaching the end of its building life.

Plans for the new theatre include a new-look entrance foyer and box office, larger community and rehearsal spaces, bigger bar areas and additional toilet facilities.
