Dial-a-Ride
The Dial-a-Ride scheme offers a door-to-door service for residents who cannot access conventional public transport due to mobility problems.
The Dial-a-Ride service is available to residents who are eligible and who qualify under certain criteria. To apply to use the service please complete the online application form providing any evidence required. You will be contacted by a member of the Passenger Transport team once your application has been received to discuss eligibility and suitability prior to accessing the service.
Please note: that you are not eligible for Dial-a-ride if you have access to a mobility car.

Fares on the Dial-a-ride service are charged £2 each way. Carers / companions can travel for free but must be pre-registered, we will ask for this information when completing a risk assessment for the service. We are unable to accept concessionary passes on the dial a ride service as this is a door to door service.
All vehicles are easy to access, having the ability to carry passengers in wheelchairs. All staff are fully trained in disability awareness and passenger safety to ensure the comfort and well-being of customers.
How to book
All trips must be pre booked 24 hours in advance of travel by phoning 01952 384545 between 9am and 3pm - lines are open daily Monday - Friday - excluding bank holidays. Early booking is essential to get the time you want and to avoid disappointment.
Cancellations
All cancellations should be emailed to passenger.transport@telford.gov.uk or call us on 01952 384545 by noon on the day prior to travel. If transport has not been cancelled you will be changed for the transport and the fare due prior to you travelling again with the service. (Exceptional circumstances regarding exemption of payment can be applied at the discretion of the Council)
Dial-a-Ride service is available between 9.30am and no later than 4pm at the pick-up point Mondays to Fridays, excluding bank holidays.
Please note: we are not able to transport mobility scooters for safety reasons.

If you live permanently in Telford and Wrekin, and you feature within at least one of the groups listed below, you may qualify for the Dial-a-Ride service:
- you are registered blind or are partially-sighted, having either total or a high degree of visual loss
- you are profoundly or severely deaf and/or without speech
- you have a disability or injury that has a substantial and long-term adverse effect on your ability to walk
- you have no arms, or have long term loss of the use of both arms
- you have a learning disability
- you have been prevented from holding, or would be refused, a driving licence under Part III of the Road Traffic Act 1988 under Section 92 of the Act (physical fitness) on grounds other than the persistent mis-use of drugs or alcohol.
Please note: you are not eligible for Dial-a-Ride if you have access to a mobility car.

Complete the online form to apply for the Dial-a-Ride scheme
When applying for Dial-a-Ride, please make sure to specify any difficulties you have and any mobility aids you use, including wheelchairs, walking frames, crutches or walking sticks. Please also provide all the required evidence and documentation.
Once you have completed the application form, a member of the Dial-a-Ride team will contact you to process your application.
