Register a building as an approved venue
Approved venues can be licensed for one, three, or four year periods within the borough of Telford & Wrekin, between the hours of 8am and 7pm.
This can be done through the council Registration Service team to hold secular weddings, civil partnerships, naming's and renewal of vows ceremonies.
To gain approval, the proprietor or trustee of the venue must apply to us for permission. New approvals granted will be valid for one, three, or four years.
Please apply to renew your licence if it expires, as soon as possible within that calendar year.
Valid until the end of 2025 - Brand new customers
We have a special introductory offer for new venues wishing to test the water without a huge financial commitment. These are the current options until the end of the year:
£1,500 for three years or £600 for one year.
Prices from 2026 will be as follows:
£2,460 for four years, £1,850 for three years, and £750 for one year.
Please note: Only card payments can be taken by the Registration Service. We are unable to take cash payments.

Applications received for premises to be used for marriage and civil partnership ceremonies will be listed on this page. These applications are made in accordance with the following legislation:
- The Marriage Act 1949 (As Amended)
- The Marriages (Approved Premises) Regulations 1995
- The Civil Partnership Act 2004
- The Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Act 2013.

for an approval for the use of The Anstice Memorial Hall, 1 Anstice Square, Madeley, Telford, TF7 5BD
as a place for civil marriages and civil partnerships in accordance with the above Acts.
