A41 Resurfacing Scheme

As part of the Council’s ongoing investment into its roads and footpaths, we will shortly be carrying out works on the A41, from Forton Roundabout to Buttermilk Hill (Telford and Wrekin’s Northern Boundary with Shropshire). These works will include carriageway patching, resurfacing and surface dressing along with ironwork reinstatements and replacement lining and road studs along this section.

The funding for the work has come from the Council’s highway capital programme as part of its ‘Pride in Our Community’ programme to make the borough a better place to live, work and visit. The project is being delivered by Telford & Wrekin Council's principal contractor Balfour Beatty with associated sub-contractors.

Traffic Management

Extents

The A41 will be closed between the Telford/Shropshire Boundary and Forton Roundabout with a diversion route via the A53, the A442 and the A518.

Access

The works are being delivered by Telford and Wrekin Councils Highways team along with Balfour Beatty Living Places and specialist sub-contractors. The team will endeavour to work closely with the community and specifically residents and businesses situated within the closure extents to allow access to properties throughout the project, but there may be times where the diversion route will need to be followed. We are unable to provide access through the site during closure periods for safety reasons.

The A41 will be closed in sections between Forton Roundabout and the Standford Bridge Junction during the periods detailed above. Access will be maintained across the A41 in two locations throughout all closure periods.

Communications

Signage

Warning signs will be installed along the A41 from Monday 12 May along with an advanced warning email issued to stakeholders and a letter will be delivered to properties in the local area.

Variable message signs will be installed on site during the construction period to provide live updates on closure dates throughout the period.
