Telford Day
Telford Day, on the 29 November 2025, is an opportunity to come together to celebrate all that we love about Telford: our spirit, or pride and our place.
The date was chosen as it marks the anniversary of the formation of the new town of Telford, back in 1968. Since then, our town has grown into a vibrant community through hard work, investment and care.

Watch Councillor Lee Carter reveal the exciting plans for celebrating Telford Day and all the events coming your way!
To celebrate the first Telford Day, school children were invited to design a flag for our town.
There’s so much to love about Telford, whether you live here, work here or have come to visit.
From flag raising to a lantern parade, there’s so much happening to celebrate Telford Day.
In the summer of 2025, we held a competition in Borough schools asking children and young people to design a flag that we hoped would become a symbol of civic pride for many years to come.
More than 1,000 children took part in the competition and following a judging process and public vote, Amelia’s inspired design was the winner, the flag will be raised for the first time on 29 November 2025.
The Telford flag represents the iconic Ironbridge, a sun/cog as a nod to the Borough’s industrial heritage and the colour green to represent the many wonderful green and opens spaces available.
The Telford flag has received lots of positive feedback so far and we’ve received multiple requests from people asking how they can use the flag.
