Get involved in adult social care

Help us build better services for everyone...

We want people who use adult social care to work with us, making sure that those with lived experience - our experts by experience, are truly heard, valued, and able to shape, question, and challenge what we do.

We know everyone likes to get involved in different ways. Not everyone wants to sit in meetings, and that’s absolutely fine. You might prefer to share your thoughts on specific topics based on your own experiences with adult social care, health services, care providers, community and voluntary groups, or even national projects.

You can also explore opportunities to volunteer and play an active role in your community, it is a great way to share your skills, experiences, and ideas. Your contribution can make a real impact, check out our volunteer opportunities and see how you can get involved today!

However you choose to take part, your input can help us make our services better for everyone.

Co-producing a better future for Telford and Wrekin...

We’ve developed the Adult Social Care Co-production Framework to set out how we work together to create a better future for people in Telford and Wrekin

Co-production is about more than consultation - it’s about partnership. It means bringing together people who use services, carers, professionals, and communities to design and improve adult social care in a way that reflects real experiences and real needs.

This framework explains our approach and the values and principles that guide us. These principles are critical to making sure that the voices of people with lived experience, our experts by experience, have the greatest impact

Our partnership boards - experts by experience shaping adult social care...

In Telford and Wrekin, we have several boards made up of experts by experience - people who access adult social care services and / or their family carers - who are passionate about shaping the future of adult social care.

These boards bring together council employees and representatives from health, community, and voluntary sectors. Together, they drive action plans and make recommendations on how services can improve and develop, with the ultimate goal of delivering better outcomes for local residents.

As experts by experience, board members are uniquely placed to keep council leaders and senior managers connected to the day-to-day realities of people who use services and their carers. Their involvement ensures that local voices are at the heart of decisions about the future of adult social care.
