Growth and Skills Levy Transfer
The Growth and Skills Levy (formerly the Apprenticeship Levy) helps us invest in high-quality training and develop the skills our workforce needs for the future.
As a levy-paying employer, we can transfer up to 50% of our annual levy funds to other employers to support apprenticeship training across the borough.

Who can apply?
Funding is available for new apprenticeship starts for either new or existing employees. We cannot fund apprenticeships that have already started.
Eligible organisations include:
- Voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations supporting people in Telford and Wrekin.
- Charities based in or working within Telford and Wrekin.
- Small and medium-sized businesses based in Telford and Wrekin.
- Organisations that support the delivery of the Council's priorities.
Transferred funds can only be used for approved apprenticeship training and assessment costs.
How to apply
Applications are accepted throughout the year, subject to funding availability.
Before applying, please read the GOV.UK guidance on transferring apprenticeship funds.
To apply, please complete the application form.
- We will acknowledge your application within five working days.
- Applications will normally be reviewed within four weeks.
- Successful applicants must begin using the transferred funds within three months of approval.
