Bikeability

Bikeability is the national programme for cycle training in England and Wales. It is based on the national standard for cycle training.

The scheme is the 21st century version of 'cycling proficiency'. It teaches cyclists skills and tips on how to cope with cycling on today's roads.

Bikeability isn't only for children, Telford & Wrekin Council offers Bikeability to people of all ages - we want adults to take up the challenge too! Whether you're a complete beginner, would like to boost your confidence or want to develop more advanced skills, it's easy to get some coaching that fits your needs.

For children

We currently offer Bikeability levels one and two to every primary school within the borough with the training aimed at year 6 pupils. It also offers secondary school pupils the opportunity to undertake Bikeability to a level determined by the pupil.

For adults

We aim to increase the number of adults trained to Bikeability level three standard over the following year by working with local businesses to offer coaching tips to adults who may cycle to and from work.
