In September 2022, The Flash, Snedshill and Redhill were identified as areas to be covered by future Local Nature Reserves in the borough.

The sites cover a combined area of 49 hectares in three distinct compartments within Priorslee, Redhill and St Georges.

The Flash covers an extensive area of woodland and grassland and the mature Hangman's pool, the pool has historically been used for angling. The Flash is a god site for bat activity throughout the summer. Snedshill covers a former mine working location and is comprised of secondary woodland and grassland areas. The final area is Redhill Eco Park with great crested newt pools and pitmounds covering land around Redhill development. Reptile, other amphibian and other bird species can be found across all three sites.
