Elections
The Elections Act 2022 requires postal voters who applied before 31 October 2023 to renew their application by 31 January 2026. Postal votes will now be valid for a maximum of three years, after which a new application is needed.
Telford and Wrekin Council has emailed affected voters with instructions to reapply online on the GOV.UK website. Those without an email address on file will receive renewal letters by post between April 2025 and January 2026.
Genuine emails will have the subject "Action required: Voting by post" and come from electoral.services.telford.wrekin.council@notifications.service.gov.uk. If unsure about links, voters can visit the government website directly. Paper forms are available upon request.
To cancel a postal or proxy vote, email elections@telford.gov.uk with your name, address, and cancellation request.
