Physical activity and exercise
Getting enough exercise means a stronger, fitter you. It’s good for your body and your mind too. Adults should do some type of physical activity every day. Any type of activity is good for you. The more you do the better.
How much is enough?
We should all aim for 30 minutes of exercise daily. That’s 150 minutes a week of moderate intensity activity (fast walk, cycling) or 75 minutes a week of vigorous intensity activity (walking up stairs, sprinting).
Moderate activity will raise your heart rate, and make you breathe faster and feel warmer. One way to tell if you're working at a moderate intensity level is if you can still talk, but not sing.
Vigorous intensity activity makes you breathe hard and fast. Very vigorous activities are exercises performed in short bursts of maximum effort broken up with rest.
