Customer notice - COVID-19 update 19 October 2020

We are pleased to announce that we are now taking referrals for telephone and video call appointments. Please note we are not currently able to offer our drop-in service at Southwater One.

The coronavirus pandemic has highlighted how important it is to take care of your health. Taking care of your long term health includes maintaining a healthy weight, keeping active, eating a healthy diet and quitting smoking. Taking care of your mental health and wellbeing is also very important.

Having a healthy lifestyle will help to maintain your heart health, help prevent you having a stroke and can reduce your risk of developing some cancers. It can also increase your energy levels, improve your sleep and help with you general wellbeing.

If you live or work in Telford and Wrekin, the Healthy Lifestyles team are here to support you. Healthy Lifestyles Advisors and Practitioners provide a free and confidential service to motivate, encourage and support people to make changes to improve their health and wellbeing. They work with you to identify and help you achieve small changes that can make a big difference.

We are here to help you if you a looking to:

  • lower your blood pressure
  • lower your cholesterol
  • reduce your risk of developing type 2 diabetes
  • manage your weight
  • be more active
  • improve your wellbeing
  • quit smoking.

Our support consists of 6 structured one-to-one appointments over a 12-week period to get you started. Because we cannot meet you in person at the moment we are currently booking telephone and video call appointments.

This means we will not be able to take any physical measurements to help track your progress. We can’t weigh you, measure your body fat content or offer a carbon monoxide test. But there are other ways that we can help you track your progress.
