Request for CCTV footage

Closed circuit television (CCTV) images are retained for 28 days unless the footage has been requested by the police or as part of a subject access request. In these circumstances, footage may be retained for a longer period.

We cannot provide recorded images held for:

• prevention or detection of crime; or
• arrest or charge of offenders which could prejudice a criminal case.

Relevant CCTV images will be released to the police to assist with investigation.

CCTV footage for insurance purposes

If you think the council has CCTV footage of an incident, such as a road traffic accident or your car being hit, etc., please contact your insurance company and ask them to request footage from us.

A charge will be made to your insurance company for the request:

• £25 + VAT for searching council systems for relevant footage
• £100 + VAT for the release of footage to the insurance company.

Ask Insurers to contact: ig@telford.gov.uk with date, time and precise location of incident.

CCTV footage – Subject Access Request

Under the UK Data Protection Act / UK GDPR 2018, you can ask whether we have CCTV images of you and request copies if held. There is no charge. Please complete the subject access request form.

Charges for searching council systems for relevant CCTV footage:

• £25 + VAT for searching council systems for relevant footage.

Please quote your TWC-XXXXX reference and request a receipt of your payment. Please forward a copy of this receipt to: ig@telford.gov.uk and quote the TWC reference.
