The placement of looked after children in the borough of Telford and Wrekin
If your authority is planning to place a child or young person within the Borough of Telford and Wrekin, please consult with us prior to any placement (in line with the 2014 amendments to the Care, Planning, Placement and Case Review (England) Regulations, 2010).

What happens next?
Once agreement has been reached on the placement of a child or young person within Telford and Wrekin please complete the notification form and send it by secure email to:

Following initial consultation, Telford and Wrekin's Children's Safeguarding team will liaise with your local authority to inform them of the services that are available to children and young people within the Borough. For information about these services please visit the early help for children and families section of our website.
Please note
- when your child or young person changes address or leaves Telford and Wrekin, you must notify us again via the Family Connect email as above
- in order to ensure that our own register of children placed in this area by other local authorities is up to date, could you please inform us of any looked after children currently placed in Telford and Wrekin by your authority, by completing and returning the notification form
- if you have previously advised us of any children or young people placed in Telford and Wrekin and they have now left the area please also use the notification form to advise us what date they left.
Missing persons
Please ensure that all providers that you use within Telford and Wrekin are fully aware that the West Mercia Missing Persons Policy must be used if one of your children or young people placed within Telford & Wrekin goes missing.
