Register a building as an approved venue

As a result of the current COVID-19 'lockdown' restrictions, venue licenses will remain as presently held. However, at their expiry, a four year licence will be provided at the cost of a three year licence.

Hotels and venues can be licensed for a three year period within the borough of Telford and Wrekin, through the Council Registration team, to hold 'secular' weddings, civil partnerships, baby namings and renewal of vows ceremonies.

To gain approval, the proprietor or trustee of the venue must apply to us for permission and read through the guidance notes carefully before submitting their application. Approvals given will be valid for 3 years.

You can apply to renew your licence if it expires within a calendar year.

Three year licence fees

  • £1,090 - ceremony only, no function afterwards - any day.
  • £1,860 - ceremony and function, Monday to Saturdays only - excluding bank holidays.
  • £2,460 - ceremony and function, any day - including bank holidays

Please note only card payments can be taken by the Registration Service. We are unable to take cash payments.
