Can you provide activities and/or meals for school aged children during the Christmas holiday period? If so we think this may be of interest to you.
Join many other organisations who have provided activities during the summer of 2021 and get involved in the delivery of Happy Healthy & Active Holiday's over the Christmas holidays.
Following receipt of government funding in 2021, Telford & Wrekin Council are coordinating a local Happy Healthy & Active Holiday (HHAH) programme which offers free holiday provision including healthy food and enriching activities for children who receive benefits-related Free School Meals (FSM) across the borough.
During the summer many organisations joined us to deliver a successful programme for eligible children and young people. We are now seeking support from more organisations, including childminders, wraparound care providers, activity providers, schools and community/voluntary sector organisations with relevant experience who can make this Christmas one to remember for children in the borough.
Can you provide Happy Healthy & Active Holiday Sessions? (Club Provider)
You would be required to provide the equivalent of four times four hour sessions across the two week period of the Christmas holiday (20 December 2021 to 3 January 2022), a total of 16 hours of provision*.
These sessions need to offer enriching activity (such as arts and crafts, educational activities etc.), physical activity and a meal (preferably hot) to children in the 5-16 years age range.
To help you do this you can buy into the support offered from one of the organisations registered on a list of potential Delivery Partners or from a provider of your choice. So, for example, you may be able to provide all other provisions except for food and physical activity, this shouldn't stop you from taking part, you can use grant money to buy these services.
* Whilst we would like all applicants to meet the above criteria, the panel may consider projects that fall outside of this condition where an application is particularly strong and local need is identified.
Can you provide an element of the required provision? (Delivery Partner)
For example, you may be able to provide food to the standard required, provide the required physical or enriching activities (e.g. arts and crafts, educational activity etc), nutritional education or assistance to ensure clubs are inclusive. You may also have a venue you could make available to someone else who would like to be a Club Provider.
