Nova training

Students at school may think that school is their only choice, and following year 11, that staying on at Sixth Form or joining College is the only option or that results mean the route first planned may not be an option. Think again!

At Nova there are a wide variety of options for young people aged 14 to 24 regardless of exam results. You will have an individual learning plan, matched to your future aspirations which allows you to learn, gain qualifications and progress to employment in your chosen career.

Our success has allowed us to operate a number of youth and adult training programmes from centres in Birmingham, Brownhills, Cannock, Dudley, Kidderminster, Oldbury, Redditch, Telford, Walsall, West Bromwich, Willenhall and Wolverhampton.

Our programme is available for anyone aged 14 - 24 and the course runs in conjunction with our Study Programme. The focus is around developing your skills and undertaking accredited qualifications in English, Maths, ICT and Employability. Our exceptionally skilled and dedicated team of Tutors and Teaching Assistants work with you as an individual to identify the support strategies required to meet your specific needs and develop strategies to work through any barriers to learning identified.

Nova Training offer dedicated opportunities to study in a small group environment, where a learner has additional support needs, and 1:1 support is available based on the evidence we receive; our aim is to support you to develop a range of strategies to become more and more independent, in your day to day learning.

At Nova Training we focus on the individual in all we do, we will work with you, at your level and pace, in your time and all of our efforts are focussed on enabling you to become more independent and offer you the opportunity to identify the opportunities to create a better future for yourself.

Learners can benefit from a great range of vocational subjects including motor vehicle, business administration, customer service, retail, warehousing and much more, depending on their area of interest. 

All courses can include Functional Skills, Employability, Vocational Training and high-quality work placements.

Nova works with hundreds of employers throughout the country and the West Midlands including Howdens, Mr Tyre, Farmfoods, LWC drinks, Eurofit, NHS and Local Councils. We have hundreds of vacancies for you to take advantage of to progress your career, gain qualifications and skills whilst earning a wage.

Schools Provision 14 - 16

Course description

Educational offer through Nova Training which includes a variety of 14 - 16 vocational courses for pupils in year 10 and 11. The school’s provision is a great training programme to help you get the right skills, qualifications, and experience to get you where you want to be. In addition to the qualification, we can also help you with the following;

• training to prepare you for college or to get an apprenticeship or a job
• help with employability skills such as, CV writing and interview skills
• confidence building and teamwork skills.

Courses available

We offer an extensive range of courses available at different levels. These options give young people access to courses that are more vocational and not normally available as part of the school curriculum.

Our 14 - 16 provision is available in the following subject areas:

• Customer Service
• Maths
• English
• ICT
• Functional Skills.

Entry requirements

Must be aged 14 - 16 and have permission from your School and Parents / Carers.

Assessment

Continuous on-going assessment of assignments and practical sessions in Nova Training’s training centres.
