Birth certificates

After the birth has been registered, you will be given a short birth certificate free of charge. A full certificate showing the parents details can also be purchased at this time for the fee of £4.

Standard and further short birth certificates can be purchased at the time of registration or any time thereafter. Certificates purchased at a later date will cost more than at the time of registration.

You can apply in person at the Register Office or by post. If you require a certificate for yourself you may also apply over the phone using a debit or credit card. Please note that all certificates applied for will be issued within 24 hours of your request.

You can print a copy of the application form to request a copy of a birth certifcate, fill it in and send it to the Superintendent Registar at Telford & Wrekin Register Office.

Make your cheque or postal order payable to the 'Superintendent Registrar' and include a stamped, addressed envelope.
