We are very happy to be able to offer couples the option to renew or re-affirm their marriage or civil partnership vows with a secular ceremony that can form the centrepiece of a celebration. The ceremony has no legal standing and is only available to married or civil partnership couples.
This ceremony is the perfect way for couples to celebrate their relationship at any point in their lives, but it can provide an ideal framework for a special celebration - for example, to mark a silver, ruby or golden anniversary. It's also an ideal choice for couples who wish to re-affirm their vows in the presence of family and friends if the original ceremony took place abroad.
Where can I have a ceremony and what will it cost?

How do I arrange a ceremony?
For a ceremony at Telford and Wrekin Register Office, you should first contact the Superintendent Registrar to check availability.
For a ceremony at one of our approved venues, you should make a provisional booking with the venue in the first instance and then contact the Superintendent Registrar to ensure that a celebrant will be able to attend.
You will be asked to pay a non-refundable deposit of £35 when booking your ceremony, and we will also need to see your marriage or Civil Partnership certificate. You will then be given your Renewal of Vows Pack, which will help you make your choices on the content of the ceremony.
On average, ceremonies take about 20 - 30 minutes. Every ceremony is unique and will be created to meet your specific needs. Please note you will also need to ask two people to sign the commemorative certificate as witnesses.
We will arrange for you to visit the Register Office no later than a month before the ceremony to discuss the content and finalise details with the celebrant, and also to pay the balance of the fee.
