The Citizens Advice consumer service took over responsibility for providing consumer advice and information from Consumer Direct on 1 April 2012.
The Citizens Advice consumer service works in partnership with Local Authority Trading Standards Services offering clear, practical, first level advice and information on a wide range of consumer issues.
In more complex cases, where The Citizens Advice consumer service are unable to assist they will signpost you to your local Citizens Advice Bureau or a solicitor.

Telford & Wrekin Council's Trading Standards team run the Trading Standards Accredited (TSA) scheme for locally based traders. The aim of the Scheme is to support local businesses and give consumers access to traders they can rely on. View further information on the scheme.
The Scheme includes businesses such as plumbers, painters and decorators, electricians, builders and gardeners who offer services ranging from simple repairs to large scale building projects. The UK ECC is part of the European Consumer Centre Network (ECC-Net). The aim of the network is to give consumers the same confidence when shopping within Europe as they do at home. The UK ECC can provide advice and support to individuals in order to resolve a cross-border dispute.
